Artifacts are Game Modifiers that are found in the world in-game.

Unlocking[edit | edit source]

To unlock Artifacts you need to use the correct Artifact Code in Sky Meadow, using the Compound Generator below the map, then interacting with the laptop. A Portal to the trial for that Artifact in Bulwark's Ambry will spawn.

The Compound Generator will cycle in the order: square, circle, triangle, diamond (■ ● ▲ ♦)

In Bulwark's Ambry, the Artifact whose trial is being attempted will be active and an Artifact Key will be on an elevated block in front of the Artifact Reliquary. The player must give the Artifact Key to the Artifact Reliquary, which will cause monsters to start spawning, with more Artifact Keys dropping from randomly killed monsters. Using an Artifact Key will remove them from all player inventories.

Upon destroying the Artifact Reliquary, the Artifact can be taken and a portal to a First Stage will appear.

Chaos[edit | edit source]

  • You are susceptible to your own explosions caused by items, such as Brilliant Behemoth (Risk of Rain 2), Runald's Band, Will-o'-the-wisp (Risk of Rain 2), Sticky Bomb (Risk of Rain 2) etc. If any of your attacks activate these items, it can damage and potentially kill you if you are near enough. Try to avoid these items with this artifact active, especially if you're playing a melee survivor.
    • In addition, Will-o'-the-wisp explosions cannot be blocked by items such as Tougher Times.
  • Located on the same side as the Ancient Gate, if you face the gate it will be on the right hand side underneath close to the pit underneath the stone arch. It will be missing some of the code.

Command[edit | edit source]

  • All items will drop as an Command Essence item. When interacted with, a menu will appear allowing the player to select an available item. You cannot select items you have not unlocked.
  • You can only choose an item of the same tier/type as the source drop
  • Only one player can interact with an item at a time.
  • You are still vulnerable to damage while selecting an item.
  • Being pushed away from the item will automatically cancel interacting with it.
  • Artifact Key and the individual Elite Essence items are considered their own tier/type; you cannot choose an Essence other than the one pertaining to the Elite enemy that dropped it.
  • 3D Printers and Cleansing Pools do not spawn with this Artifact.
  • It is located behind The Merchant and tiled to the side behind the barrier.

Death[edit | edit source]

Dissonance[edit | edit source]

  • The number of each Monster type chosen will always be 3 Basic Monsters, 2 Minibosses and 3 Champions.
  • Special Boss Monsters, including the Scavenger, are unaffected by this Artifact.
  • The Trial for this Artifact in Bulwark's Ambry currently does not work properly, with all Monsters still being the same.

Enigma[edit | edit source]

  • Does not give Milky Chrysalis, The Crowdfunder, or Effigy of Grief.
  • Can give Lunar Equipment.
  • Giving your equipment to an Equipment Drone will not give you a new equipment.
    • Starting a new stage will give you a new equipment.
  • The new equipment will be put on the cooldown of the activated equipment.
    • Effigy of Grief gives 15s for this.
    • The Crowdfunder gives 5s but does not give a new equipment itself, the 5s would apply to equipment that is picked up after The Crowdfunder is used.
  • Preon Accumulator will fire, but will not show the charge up animation (unless it gives another Preon).
    • New equipment cannot be used while Preon Acculumulator is charging (with Fuel Cell).
  • Milky Chrysalis does not work with this Artifact.
  • The Crowdfunder is not affected by this Artifact.
  • Gnarled Woodsprite will heal the target but not attach to it.
  • Effigy of Grief will give a new equipment and also drop on the ground, allowing equipment to be dropped on the ground if Effigy is picked up.
  • Located on the furthest side of the largest cube in Bulwarks Ambry, use the smaller cubes to work your way over.

Frailty[edit | edit source]

  • Loader is unaffected by this Artifact due to her passive.

Glass[edit | edit source]

Honor[edit | edit source]

  • When enabling this artifact, it is recommended stacking Old Guillotine for max efficiency.

Kin[edit | edit source]

  • In the Void Fields, no additional Monsters are added past the first cell event.
  • The Trial for this Artifact in Bulwark's Ambry currently does not work properly, with all Monsters still being able to spawn.

Metamorphosis[edit | edit source]

  • Upon entering the Trial for this Artifact in Bulwark's Ambry, each player will be given a random survivor and will be stuck as this survivor for the rest of the game (unless entering this Trial again).
  • Located on the end of the right most arch, on the newest alternate version of the map.

Sacrifice[edit | edit source]

  • Drop rates for item rarity are: 63% common, 27% uncommon, 0.9% legendary, 9% equipment.
  • Drop chance is not affected by 57 Leaf Clover.
  • Chests such as the Legendary Chest on Abyssal Depths and the Chests on Gilded Coast do still spawn with this Artifact active.
  • Located in the Gilded Coast in a pool of water that has a dip and a small concave area, in the inner part of island.

Soul[edit | edit source]

  • The Wisps will be bright blue and do not give gold or exp.
  • If Huntress's Laser Glaive kills a monster, it will immediately jump to the wisp spawned by the monster's death, consuming a bounce.
  • They do not drop items if Artifact of Sacrifice is enabled.
  • Located on the "second" island, or alternatively the literal physical highest land mass on the map, inside a planter. You will need multiple Hopoo Feathers and speed items to reach it.

Spite[edit | edit source]

  • Bombs have a Proc Coefficient of 0.75.
  • A single monster can spawn up to 30 bombs.
  • The bombs will bounce twice then detonate on the third bounce.
  • Located on the settings screen accessed from main menu.

Swarms[edit | edit source]

  • Each Monster also gives half the Gold and exp reward.

Vengeance[edit | edit source]

  • Doppelgangers spawn with the same items and equipment as the player they're copying. They're named `Umbra of X`, where X is a name of a survivor they're copying.
  • For the Trial for this Artifact in Bulwark's Ambry, a doppelganger for each player is spawned every time the Artifact Reliquary is interacted with, except the last interaction.
  • Umbrae are considered bosses, their healthbar is displayed at the top of the screen and they are susceptible to damage boost from Armor-Piercing Rounds.
  • The screen has a deep purple tint while at least one Umbra is alive.
  • Upon death, Umbra drops one random item from their inventory, be it copied from a player or received from Artifact of Evolution.
  • If Artifact of Swarms is also enabled, two doppelgangers will spawn with half the max health each.
    • Each one will drop an item.
  • Doppelganger engineer turrets do not appear to be limited to two per doppelganger.
